April 5, 2012YAY FOR EASTER!! Squeeeee!! Easter’s almost here! Another holiday, another excuse to eat MASSIVE amounts of chocolate! My parents make me an Easter basket, which is all kinds of cool. I mean, I’d be pretty bummed if Brianna got a huge selection of sugary goodness and I had to watch her open it all in the morning while I sat there munching on a Pop Tart. But that’s not why I’m psyched for Easter. It’s just a super fun holiday! Last night my mom wanted me to color eggs with Brianna, and I have to admit that was kind of lame. Not because there’s anything wrong with coloring Easter eggs…just because Brianna drove me NUTS! My mom decided to turn it into an “egg play date” which meant I had to hang out with Brianna AND her crazy friend Brittany. I’m not being mean by calling a kid crazy. I think she legitimately is! I swear I’ve seen her talking to her shoulders as if they’re actual people, shaped like bones and inserted into her body. I guess that’s why she gets along with Brianna so well. Brianna has a talking hand, and she has shoulder friends! I hardboiled a bunch of eggs, and I had the dyed water in several different bowls. All they had to do was sit at the table and dip the eggs, but clearly that wasn’t exciting enough for them! They decided to replace the hardboiled eggs with regular eggs, probably because Brianna knew I’d last all of two minutes before deciding to eat one! I grabbed and it banged it against the table to crack the egg. But instead of getting a delicious little hardboiled treat, I got gross stringy white and yellow stuff all over my hand. Then I pulled my hand up too fast and flicked a bunch of yolk into my hair. SOOO gross!! I thought my mom would be totally annoyed like me, so I screamed, “Mooooom!!!!” But all she did is laugh with Brianna and Brittany and call them, “Cute little pranksters!” So not cool! Next time I do something obviously wrong and obnoxious, I’m going to be all like, “My bad…but I thought you’d laugh because I’m such a cute little prankster!” I decided to just laugh it off because no one, and I mean NO ONE, gets to ruin my holiday cheer! After I finished up with them, Zoey called. She asked me if I want to come over her house on Friday night so we can bake some cool Easter desserts with Chloe. I told her that sounded awesome, but they had to crack the eggs! I’ve been looking online for different types of Easter desserts, and here’s what I’ve found so far: -A bunny cake. I know, pretty obvious, but it’s a classic! If you make two round cakes, you can just cut pieces out of the second one to shape like ears. Then you frost with vanilla frosting and draw eyes and whiskers and stuff with one of those icing pen thingies. -Bunny cupcakes. If you have a bratty little sister like Brianna, you might prefer this option. This way no one puts their germy hands on your dessert!! All you need to do is make cupcakes, frost them white, and then you can stick two of those long vanilla sandwich cookies into the top for ears. (And draw on faces just like with the cake!) -Mini Easter egg baskets! This one’s pretty tough to explain, so I found a link for it here. (And there’s actually a bunny cake on this page too!) Do you guys have any Easter traditions? Leave them in the comments!! *OK I realized I wrote Brittany and then Kayla. It was Brittany…those two kinda look alike!!
