Have you guys ever heard of the game Two Truths and a Lie? I remember this one summer when I went to day camp, the counselors had us play this game as a way to get to know each other.
Here’s how it works: You tell three things about yourself. Two of them have to be true stories, and the other one is totally made up.
Then everyone has to guess which ones are true, and which one is the lie.
Today has been SUPER boring so I thought it would be kind of fun to play it with you guys!!
Usually you just tell quick things, like, “I had a boy’s haircut in fifth grade” or “I used to have a pet goat named Kirby,” but I decided to tell you guys some longer stories…hey, I already told you I’m super bored!!!
Story Number One:
When I was in first grade, I had a HUGE crush on this boy named Nicholas who sat right next to me. We used to pretend we were boyfriend and girlfriend…like it was a TOTALLY serious 6-year old relationship!!
This one time our teacher took us on a field trip to a farm. Right after we learned about milking cows, it was time to eat lunch.
I found Nicholas sitting all by himself with his lunch box crying. Turns out he wet his pants! I felt so bad for him…UNTIL he spilled his thermos of apple juice all over MY pants!
He was like, “This way we can pretend we BOTH spilled juice on ourselves!”
And I was like, “Yeah that might work…or everyone might think we BOTH peed ourselves!!!”
That crush ended pretty fast.
Story Number Two:
Recently I was supposed to take a BIG history test in the afternoon after lunch, but I didn’t study at all the night before. It wasn’t MY fault! I started watching old Tyra clips and YouTube and it turned into a massive marathon!!!
So I went to the nurse’s office and said I was sick so I could get dismissed from school, but no one was home to pick me up. The nurse said I should be okay since I didn’t have a fever or anything (like NO ONE ever gets sick without also having a fever…I read WebMD and I KNOW that’s not true!)
When I got to history I knew I had to think fast, so I pretended I was dizzy and was going to pass out. It seemed like a good idea at the time!
My teacher FREAKED OUT and I realized I made a HUGE mistake, so I was all like, “False alarm! I’m fine!” He definitely knew I lied, and then I had to take the test anyway!
That one TOTALLY blew up in my face!
Story Number Three
I’ve been OBSESSED with going to a Lady Gaga concert this year, but not just any concert… one in Australia! How cool would that be?? So I’ve been trying to subliminally convince my parents that we should take a family trip there.
Subliminal means you make someone think something without them realizing you’re doing it. So like, years ago, when you went to see a movie, they’d show super quick flashes of popcorn and soda on the screen…so quick you didn’t realize it happened.
All you’d know was that you ABSOLUTELY HAD to get some buttery popcorn and a nice cold drink. (I read about it online…on a different day when I was totally bored!)
To convince my parents we should travel down under AND go to the concert, I created a mixed CD with different audio ads for Australia and several Lady Gaga songs. I’ve been playing it softly in their room every night while they sleep!
If my plan works, sometime soon they’ll turn to me and Brianna and be all like, “Hey you little monsters…how about we plan a nice trip to Sydney??”
It’s just a matter of time!!
So those are my stories. What do you think? Which one is the lie??
