So remember the other day I told you about MacKenzie and Jessica finding some guy’s wallet?
It was right by the store near our school, and I pretty much called her out in front of a parking lot of people so she’d have to bring the wallet into the cashier.
That was SUCH an awesome moment!!! But I had a feeling MacKenzie would try to get even because that’s what HORRIBLE people do.
What I DIDN’T know was that she would try to HUMILIATE me in front of the entire school!
So on Wednesday they had this big school assembly thing where they brought in a motivational speaker.
Have you ever had one of them come in at your school?
It’s always someone who’s been through something super intense, and they always talk about it in a totally dramatic way.
The last motivational speaker we had paced the whole time and pretty much spit on the entire front row while she talked. I was so glad I got a seat in the back!
This time the guy was super impressive. He lost both of his hands to frost bite after he got lost in the cold for days, but he still does all this wicked intense rock climbing stuff using hooks instead of hands.
I mean, how hardcore is that?!?
Pretty much the whole time he was talking, MacKenzie and Jessica were rolling their eyes and making fun of him.
SO not cool! I mean, “Thou shalt not make fun of handicapped people” is pretty much the first COMMON SENSE COMMANDMENT!!
Anywho, the assembly was all about how you have to believe in yourself and stuff.
So at the end, he was like, “Does anyone have any questions for me?”
And guessed who raised her hand. MACKENZIE!
At first I thought she was going to say something super obnoxious, but then I figured she wouldn’t do that, because she wouldn’t want to get in any trouble.
I SO didn’t see it coming when she was like, “My friend has really low self-esteem. She’s always calling herself dumb and ugly, and every time I see her she’s crying! Do you think you could say something to help her?”
Then before the guy had a chance to say anything, she went, “I mean, I feel so bad for Nikki sometimes.”
Then everyone turned and looked at me! OMG I thought I was gonna hurl! Seriously, it felt like there was a tiny tornado ravaging my stomach.
My face was bright red, and the hair was sticking up on my arms. I tried to think of something clever, but it was like my brain couldn’t come up with any words.
I couldn’t even think of something to say just in my head!
Being a dork is one thing. Having the whole school think you cry yourself to sleep every night is just SO embarrassing!!
Even Brandon was looking at me with these big puppy dog eyes.
I seriously wanted to scream, but then I’d just back up MacKenzie’s point!
Then Zoey raised her hand and said, “I know Nikki Thompson too, and we all feel so bad for her! So what should we do?”
Then everyone stopped looking at me, and MacKenzie stared at Zoey like she was trying to use her evil mind powers to make her explode or something.
I am SO glad I have awesome friends who look out for me like that!
Later the day I saw the motivational speaker dude in the hallway. It was kind of loud so I’m not entirely sure, but I’m pretty sure he said, “You’re beautiful inside and out!” right as he walked by me.
LOL! That was kind of funny. I mean totally sweet, but also pretty funny.
So that was MacKenzie’s failed attempt at revenge!
I hope she’s done trying to get even because dealing with her is EXHAUSTING!
