Saturday night was SUPPOSED to be a super fun night, and it started that way, but then it all went downhill about a half-hour in. I should back up a bit…
Chloe and Zoey wanted to do something fun and different as an end-of-the-school-year party, so we decided to go to the bowling alley, just the three of us!
Well, it wasn’t JUST the three of us. (The bowling place would probably go out of business if they only pulled in three bowlers a night!) But we didn’t invite anyone else I mean.
I was pretty psyched about it because they do this glow in the dark bowling thing.
OMG it’s so cool!! It’s all dark and stuff, and there are all kinds of strobe lights, and the balls glow. And there’s super awesome music too.
Have you ever had a black light in your room, and then fluorescent posters and white shirts glow in the dark? It’s like that, except way cooler, because it’s not just you and your friend sitting around eating stale crackers looking at each other’s clothes.
It’s a WHOLE alley full of people with glowing shirts, throwing glowing balls, eating pizza, making tons of noise. I mean it’s like a club for kids pretty much!
Anywho, we went on Saturday and we didn’t think there’ would be a ton of kids from school there. It’s not like a popular hangout or anything.
But we were talking about it in lunch on Friday, and Jessica was sitting pretty close, not really talking to anybody, making her “spy face.”
It’s like this crunched up prune-looking face that makes her appear to be deep in thought when REALLY she’s just spying for MacKenzie. Seriously, that girl’s like a human recorder because sometimes it’s like MacKenzie knows EVERYTHING I say, even when she was nowhere in sight!
That must be how she knew we’d be at the bowling alley, because guess who showed up…MACKENZIE AND JESSICA!!
I didn’t see them come in because I was too busy eating pizza, having fun, and being awesome! But then right as I was about to throw a ball, MacKenzie yelled, “Dork alert!”
So I got all distracted and practically threw the ball in the air. I seriously thought it was going to break the floor when it landed! Of course it was a total gutter ball.
Then the manager came over and asked me if I needed a lesson on how to throw the balls right, so I don’t damage the floors. He even suggested I might want to use two hands and throw the ball between my legs…and then showed me how. So embarrassing!
After the manager left I noticed MacKenzie was getting ready to bowl…right next to us! There were like five other open lanes, but she HAD to pick that one.
I wonder if she wakes up in the morning and makes a Ways to Be Evil To-Do List. Like:
- Steal candy from a baby
- Hack charity websites
- STALK Nikki and ruin her night
She was definitely trying to ruin my night! Every time I got up to bowl, she’d say something super obnoxious to Jessica like, “That’s a total gutter ball!” She was so loud and mean that the manager actually came over and gave her a warning about breaking the bowling alley “code of conduct”!
Then finally Zoey was like, “You’re both SUCH awesome bowlers. Can you guys teach us how??”
So MacKenzie practically pushed me out of the way, grabbed one of our balls, and stared down at the pins, like she was saying a bowling prayer before throwing it or something.
Then all of a sudden the manager came over and was like, “I warned you girls about the code of conduct! You can’t bowl in someone else’s lane. That’s it—out!”
I guess Chloe was getting the manager while Zoey was tricking them into teaching us to bowl!
Their faces turned BRIGHT RED! I was SO glad they had to leave because then we were able to have fun…just the three of us. Well, just us and a hundred other people.
It was SO much fun! 🙂 What did you do over the weekend??
