I admit it…sometimes I give my mom a hard time.
She made me wait FOREVER to get a cell phone, and sometimes I think she’s determined to make me the worst dressed kid in school.
One time when we were watching The Sound of Music, she said, “Hmm, I bet I could make YOU some play clothes out of curtains, too!”
For one thing, I don’t wear “play clothes” anymore! It’s not like I roll around in the mud every day when I get home from school!
Secondly…clothes out of curtains?? That might make sense in a world where people randomly break out in song, but not in the real world!!
But I’m getting away from my point. My point is my mom can also be really cool, too.
Like yesterday. I was telling her I was bored with the stuff I do on the weekends. I mean, don’t get me wrong…movies, the mall, and sleepovers are a TON of fun!
And I LOVE hanging out with Brandon at the animal shelter.
Actually, I’m never REALLY bored when I’m with Brandon, Chloe, or Zoey…they’re just so awesome! But still, I want to do some different stuff.
My mom was like, “No problem! Get a piece of paper!”
Then she started to brainstorm. It was actually kind of cute. At one point, she went, “Maybe we should use the World Wide Web to help us with our brainstorming?”
I don’t think I’ve ever heard ANYONE say “the world wide web” when referring to Googling stuff!
She came up with some totally AWESOME plans for the upcoming weekends. Here are some of the ideas:
1. Apple picking.
I LOVE apple picking!
It’s something you can only do in the fall, which is cool. You get to climb trees and fill a bag with apples, and I love that you can eat them as you go, too!
I’m thinking I’ll bake a pie or something (and by that I mean ask my mom to make a pie…another reason she’s awesome!)
2. Plan a Halloween tattoo business.
I’m always looking for ways to make extra cash, and my mom knows everyone in school LOVED my temporary tattoos when I did them before.
I could plan a day with Chloe and Zoey and draw a TON of different Halloween ones to offer in October, like pumpkins, ghosts, and stuff.
3. Make leaf bookmarks
I’m all about craft projects, and I LOVE reading, just like Chloe and Zoey, so this one’s a totally awesome idea…especially since the leaves are super pretty in the fall!
You basically just find a pretty leaf, iron it in wax paper, and then use it when you’re reading. Awesome idea, right?
4. Have a back-to-school sleepover.
OK, so I NEVER get bored with sleepovers! And this idea’s pretty unique because it’s like a themed thing.
So instead of just watching movies, ordering pizza, and messing around online, we do stuff like Truth or Dare, School Edition.
Basically that means we ask each other truth questions like, “Are you crushing on anyone new this year?” and we do dares related to school, too. (Though I can’t really think of any…you have any ideas?!)
5. Make a summer scrapbook.
We did SO many super fun things this summer, and we have a ton of pictures on cell phones and digital cameras.
It would be so cool to print them all out and make a scrapbook that we could all work on together.
I have this one picture of the three of us all squished together in Brianna’s kiddie pool. That’s DEFINITELY going in the scrapbook!!
Do you have any fun fall ideas??
