This weekend was SUCH a total mess!!
My dad’s friend got married on Saturday, and the whole family was invited. I REALLY didn’t want to go.
I mean, I don’t even know his friend, and that took up pretty much our whole Saturday.
I had SO many other things I wanted to do…like sit around with Chloe and Zoey!
I don’t care what my mom and dad say, sitting around time is SUPER important!!
But there was another reason I didn’t want to go: My mom bought Brianna and me these HORRIBLE matching lacey dresses.
I TOTALLY freaked out!! I mean, it’s like she took a frilly doll to the tackiest department store in the world and told the sales associate, “I want BOTH of my daughters to look JUST like this!”
I told her it was ridiculous for Brianna and me to match, but she was all like, “Why? The bridesmaids are going to match. I thought it would be cute!”
Yes, the bridesmaids match…but they’re SUPPOSED TO!! And the bridesmaids don’t wear dresses made for 6-year old girls!!
So that was the first annoying thing. But the WORST thing happened during the wedding ceremony.
The one thing I LOVE about weddings is when the bride first walks down the aisle. I mean, the wedding dress is, like, the biggest thing at a wedding.
See, THAT’S when a frilly dress is totally cool!
Right after the bridesmaids walked down, Brianna started pulling on the side of my dress. She TRIED to whisper, but her whispers always sound like soft yelling.
She soft-screamed right in my ear, “I HAVE TO GO BAD!!!”
So I whispered back, “Ask Mom to take you!!”
Then my mom whispered to me, “Take your sister before she has an accident!”
I was TOTALLY going to miss the bride walking down the aisle! And I had NO idea where the bathroom was. I mean, it’s not like I could run up to the priest and say, “Excuse me! Where’s the little girl’s room?!”
I was JUST about to grab Brianna’s hand when she pushed past me and ran into the aisle…RIGHT in front of the bride!!
The bride jumped, like she just saw a MASSIVE rat in ponytails! Then Brianna ran behind her, trying to get out of her way.
I got up to try to pull her back in, but I accidentally stepped on the bride’s train (the long part on the end of her dress).
Then the bride actually tripped. OMG I was SO embarrassed!! I couldn’t believe I did that!
Everyone was staring at Brianna and me, and I figured I had to say something, so I looked at the bride…ON THE GROUND…and said, “Peace be with you!” Then I turned to the people behind us and said, “And also with you!”
At that point, my mom got up to get us both, and dragged us by the hands out into the foyer area where we found the bathroom.
Then she whisper-yelled, “Go to the bathroom girls!”
But I didn’t even HAVE to go! I was only taking Brianna because she told me to. When I told her that, she said, “Just try. We’re not getting up again!”
OMG, what am I, five? Just try? I might have been wearing a baby dress, but that didn’t mean I needed someone to tell me when to use the bathroom!
When we got back into the church, we tried to tiptoe to our pew, but EVERYONE stared at us.
It was SO humiliating! And I felt so bad for the bride!!
At first I thought I’d just hide at my table all through the party. But then I figured after all that drama, I deserved to have a little fun dancing.
Yeah, I probably looked RIDICULOUS doing the chicken dance in my ugly matching doll dress, but I figured, so what? I’d never see any of those people again!!
So that was my weekend. How was yours??
