Now that it’s almost December, I’m getting SUPER psyched for Christmas!!
Remember how I said I LOVE Thanksgiving? Well I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Christmas! And you KNOW it’s serious when I bring out the extra “loves”!
This year I have a super cool plan for December!! Let me back up a bit…
The other day after school I was sitting in my room with Chloe and Zoey.
Chloe was eating this chocolate bar that had been sitting in the bottom of her backpack, which she’d accidentally left super close to the heating vent.
The chocolate was all melted, but that didn’t stop her…and she was getting it ALL over her face! So naturally Zoey and I wanted in.
Since we split the bar between three of us, and a lot of it was too melted to eat, we each got a super small piece.
So Zoey said, “These pieces are TINY!! Kind of like the chocolate you get in those advent calendars that count the days ‘til Christmas!”
Then Chloe said, “Yeah, they should give you WAY more chocolate in those things!”
And I added, “Forget about chocolate. They should make an advent calendar that’s the REAL DEAL…with 12 drummers drumming…”
Zoey chimed in singing, “And 11 pipers piping!”
And then we all went down the whole song list…ending with “a partridge in a pear tree”…and jazz hands!
We were all joking around about how big the cardboard calendar would have to be to fit all that stuff. Then I got an AWESOME idea!
What if we did our OWN December countdown leading up to Christmas? But instead of chocolate or RIDICULOUS stuff, like in the song, we’d give each other fun little homemade gifts. How cool would THAT be??
We were all SUPER excited about the idea!! Here’s how we decided it would work:
There are 24 days leading up to Christmas (see…I’m not COMPLETELY horrible at math…lol!)
That means we could each be responsible for coming up with gifts for the other two girls for eight days.
So for example, my days are:
December 1st, 4th, 7th, 10th, 13th, 16th, 19th, 22nd
I have to come up with 8 fun little homemade gifts, and make two of them to give both Chloe and Zoey on those days.
Chloe’s days are:
December 2nd, 5th, 8th, 11th, 14th, 17th, 20th, 23rd
And that leaves Zoey with:
December 3rd, 6th, 9th, 12th, 15th, 18th, 21st, and 24th
I’ve already come up with some ideas for my gifts!!
-Holiday cookies
-Holiday picture frames
-Holiday bracelets
OK, so that’s all I’ve come up with so far. I need eight REALLY good ideas! I’m sure they’re both going to come up with awesome stuff, and I want to do the same to show them I’m SO grateful to be their friend!
Do you have any ideas of things I can make? I want fun, creative, stuff that doesn’t cost much money…things YOU’D like a friend to give to you! What do you think?
