Squeeeeeeeee!!
I’ve been SO caught up in all this MacKenzie drama that I haven’t spent much time being excited for Brandon’s party.
She’s still making my life MISERABLE, but I’m going to that party, and it’s time to get super psyched about it!!
Today Chloe and Zoey came over after school because I STILL haven’t gotten a gift for Brandon, and I needed some serious help coming up with ideas!
We decided to have a daytime slumber party, just because we’re total DORKS!
We put sleeping bags on my floor and filled these huge bowls with popcorn, pretzels, and chips.
We also had these cake pops things, which were all kinds of awesome. Whoever invented cake on a stick is a total GENIUS!
The second we all sprawled out on the sleeping bags and pulled out a notebook to write down some ideas, Brianna BARGED in wearing her Yo Gabba Gabba footie pajamas.
She jumped RIGHT in between Zoey and me and screamed, “Yay! Sleepover!”
We were about to talk about super serious crush stuff…there was NO way I was letting her stay!
So I yelled, “You didn’t knock Brianna! And this is OUR daytime sleepover. Go build a pillow fort downstairs with Mom!”
She whined, “Mom doesn’t know all the gossip!”
First of all, we’re not like MacKenzie…we don’t sit around talking trash about people! And second of all, even if we did, Brianna wouldn’t know who we were talking about!
Brianna wasn’t moving, so I told her, “We need someone to make sleepover decorations! Why don’t you color some…AT LEAST 20 different pictures!
I figured by the time she was done, WE’D be done. It would be perfect!
When she left the room, Chloe nearly burst with excitement!
She said, “OK, I’ve been DYING to tell you my idea for a birthday gift! You should write Brandon a poem telling him how much your friendship means to you! That would be a SUPER special gift!”
I actually laughed when she said it because I thought she was kidding. I mean, that would be super AWKWARD!
But nope! She meant it! She’s SUCH a romantic! I love that girl. 🙂
Then Zoey said, “I got it! You should buy him some kind of accessory for his camera!”
That was actually a really good idea, but it didn’t seem special enough.
We were racking our brains, trying to come up with more ideas, but nothing sounded right!
I was just about to give up our brainstorming when I heard Brianna say, “You should use these!”
She was standing in the doorway holding a big stack of drawings.
I HIGHLY DOUBT Brandon would want a stack of stick figures made with markers that smell like fruit, but I didn’t want to make her feel bad, so I said, “Thanks but I think maybe we should save those for us….you know, because they’re so pretty.”
She got this huge smile on her face, like I told her Princess Sugar Plum was sitting downstairs waiting for her to go visit a land of unicorns.
Then she said, “OK. We’ll keep these for us! But if you want, I can make more so you can make a calendar or something.”
I was just about to shoo her away, saying, “OK, thanks, go play…” when I realized she had an AWESOME idea!!
It’s still the beginning of the year. I could make a bunch of awesome drawings and make a totally cool calendar for Brandon!
It’s thoughtful and unique, but not too sappy or anything.
Squeeeeeeee!! I CAN’T WAIT for Brandon’s party!!
