The MacKenzie gift-to-Brandon mystery is FINALLY over!!
Remember that time when Chloe overheard MacKenzie talking with some CCP-wannabe in the bathroom?
I found out who that girl is!
Her name’s Julie, and she DEFINITELY isn’t trying to be MacKenzie’s friend anymore!!
The other day Chloe, Zoey, and I found her crying at lunch, so we decided to sit down and talk to her. She was sitting all by herself and she had so much eye liner running down her face, she looked like a raccoon!
(This is why I don’t wear makeup…natural beauty is WAY BETTER than the “runny black eye” look!)
We didn’t want to make her feel embarrassed or awkward, but she looked like she needed someone to talk to, so I said, “Are you okay? Want some company?”
She sniveled, “No! I mean yes. No, I’m not okay. Yes, I really want some company!”
It didn’t take long before she spilled the whole story! MacKenzie had PROMISED she’d let her in her clique after Julie emptied out her locker to hide her little “sticky finger” secret.
(Sticky fingers = slang for someone who can’t seem to let go of stuff that belongs to other people!)
But then for the past couple of weeks, MacKenzie’s been TOTALLY ignoring her.
Julie thought maybe she was just in a bad mood, but this morning, MacKenzie HUMILIATED her in front of all the other CCPs!
Julie had been waiting at MacKenzie’s locker when she walked over with Jessica and some other girls.
Trying to be helpful, Julie said, “That bag looks heavy! I can carry it for you!”
MacKenzie laughed at her in front of EVERYONE and said, “Pathetic much? I know you’re OBSESSED with me, but I don’t need some LOSER to carry my bag!”
When Julie told us this, we all felt SO bad for her! MacKenzie had made her look like some kind of stalker freak who worshipped her.
Then I remembered…Julie was the one who told MacKenzie I robbed her house! SHE was the reason MacKenzie blamed me for all the CCPs turning on her!
I wanted to be Julie’s friend, since I TOTALLY understood how she must have felt. MacKenzie says nasty stuff to me all the time, and it’s no fun!
But I had to confront her about telling MacKenzie I was a thief!
So I said, “Chloe heard you before in the bathroom. Why did you tell MacKenzie I was the one who robbed her house?”
Julie responded, “I overheard you guys talking about getting that diaper video back, and I just wanted her to like me. I’m really sorry. I wish I never said anything to her at all!!”
Then she added, “But you don’t have to worry anymore anyways. They caught the burglar who did it.”
So THAT’S why MacKenzie hasn’t tried to get any horrible revenge on me…she knows I didn’t do anything!
That was a HUGE relief, but the next part was even better!
Julie stopped crying and was starting to get more mad than sad. She said, “I’m GLAD Brandon didn’t invite her to his party! She seriously thought that if she flirted with him and made fun of you, he’d UNINVITE you and invite her instead!”
THAT was her big plan to ruin the party for me? Trash-talk me to Brandon? She CLEARLY doesn’t know about our super close, deep friendship! He won’t just believe nasty lies about me!!
Since Julie was on a roll giving us information, I figured I’d see if she could solve the gift mystery.
I asked, “Do you know what was in that box she gave him? I’ve been DYING to find out!”
She laughed a little and said, “Yeah, it was a gift his grandmother made him give back! Some RIDICULOUSLY expensive camera. Brandon told her he appreciated it, but it was too much.”
I LOVE that she can’t convince him to stop hanging out with me OR buy his feelings!
She can be a horrible, nasty thief if she wants, but Brandon’s friendship is one thing she just can’t steal!
