AM I TOO OLD TO GO TRICK-OR-TREATING?

Dear Brandon,

Halloween is around the corner and I’m super excited! The only thing is that some of my friends think that trick-or-treating is lame and for little kids. But, I have a secret—I still LOVE trick-or-treating! I really want to go, but I also don’t want my friends to make fun of me. What should I do?

Halloween Headache

Hey Halloween Headache,

Not to be rude but, um…what’s up with your friends? You have every right to enjoy trick-or-treating if you want to. In fact, Nikki, my best bud Max Crumbly and I plan on trick-or-treating this year. A lot of high schoolers have fun going door to door for the sweet treats, too.

But seriously, I really do wonder why your friends think trick-or-treating is so lame. Is it because there are lots of little kids? Well, I’m sure they won’t care because there’s more than enough candy to go around. And as long as you’re polite, kids and parents won’t mind older kids joining in on the fun. That means no bullying, snatching candy, or smashing pumpkins. Not that you would ever do these things.☺

The thing is, people of all ages enjoy Halloween and trick-or-treating. Did you know the latest trend for Hollywood celebs is to dress up in Halloween costumes? I’m not just talking about the kids or teens—I’m talking adults all the way up to their mid-50’s (try Googling “Beyonce and daughter halloween costume,” and you’ll be amazed at what you see). And hey, a little free candy from your neighbors wouldn’t hurt, right?

So, I say get out there and rock your fav costume. Once your friends see your unshakeable confidence and how much fun you’re having, they’ll probably want to join in too. Or, you could always hide who you are with your costume so that they won’t even know it’s you showing up at their doorstep for candy. ☺

Are you planning on going trick-or-treating this year? Tell us about your costumes and plans in the comments!

    Hi Halloween Headache,
Just one thing, your friends are being rude and you don’t deserve friends who say you can’t go trick-or-treating because YOUR not their SERVANT!!!

So, anyway, I think that if you like Halloween, and if you feel like trick or treating, go for it. It doesn’t matter if your friends think that you’re too old. If they do, then they aren’t your friends. Maybe they’ll even go with you! I say get out there and rock your fav costume. Once your friends see your unshakeable confidence and how much fun you’re having, they’ll probably want to join in too.

I hope this helped and a comment will mean EVERYTHING to me!!! 🙂

    Best wishes,
    Queen Dorkarella

    Hi I need advice
SO I’ve been friends with a guy in my class ever since school started. At first me and my two other friends would hide some of his stuff (He was pretty chill about it except sometimes he would get annoyed but we weren’t being mean or rude) Then after that phase, we became good friends. We would talk in class (even if we weren’t suppose too, OOPS) and at recess and even text each other. I’ve had a tiny tiny crush on him but he said he had a crush on another girl so I didn’t think anything of it. But then my friends started saying we’d be the perfect couple because he talked to me nonstop. I thought it was weird but kinda hoped it was true. He apparently had a girlfriend too. He denied liking me so I moved on. But then he apparently broke up with her. And two days before the break up, he supposedly said he liked ME. He told his bestie (he tells him EVERYTHING) so I know that the breakup is true. But the source where I got the “he likes me” thing isn’t that reliable. I talked to my best friend and apparently he talks about me on the bus!! And it was things like “Oh yeah did you see her hair? I really liked it” and “Her outfit was super pretty today” and other stuff. Is true that he likes me? He just denies it every time. But everything he says and does points to him liking me! Helppp P.S hope this gets posted!

No way are you too old for trick or treating! It doesn’t matter if your friends think it’s lame and for little kids! Who cares what they think of you? You can be your own person! You don’t have to let other people be the boss of you. I am sure when you get TONS of candy on Halloween night, all of your BFFs will be SUPER jealous. Remember, Halloween is for fun so if your friends start making fun of you A LOT for trick or treating, let a teacher or adult know! Have a HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
